Demi Lovato’s father thinks the pressures of Hollywood affected his daughter.
The 18-year-old star admitted herself to a rehab facility on Monday and her father Patrick Lovato revealed he always worried about how fame would affect her.
He told gossip website RadarOnline: “There are a lot of pressures. That is one of the things I worried about when she signed with Disney. It’s just going to happen.”

Patrick – who is divorced from Demi’s mother Dianne - explained how Demi got her love of showbusiness from her parents even though he admitted it can take its toll on family life.
He said: “She grew up around it so I guess that's why she went into it; I guess it's in her genes with her mom and her dad. Mainly watching her mom, I’d gotten out of it myself. Cause someone had to take care of the kids."Although Patrick – who is currently battling cancer - has not spoken to his famous daughter in a few months he insisted she will recover from her problems.
He said “It’s been a couple of months. I've had cancer, I've been in the hospital for two months and I just got out.  She hasn't visited, she's been too busy, she's been way too busy.
“She’ll be fine. She’s strong alright.”

A statement from the Demi’s representative yesterday said: "Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time. Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help.”

It is believed the young star is not seeking treatment for drink or drug use.
