Trupti Bhoir accepted the challenge to play a fat woman in Agadbam and her effort has paid off as the film is expected to enter the Guinness Book Of World Records.
Trupti Bhoir wanted to see Marathi films on a new high. The little experience that she had was more than enough for her to realise that however much the Marathi film industry had ‘progressed’ in recent times, it was neither technically strong nor as financially sound as needed. This, when Dadasaheb Phalke, the pioneer of Indian cinema, was a Maharashtrian. And looking at the progress of the South Indian films, which she calls the ‘baap of regional cinema’, the actress who has just about six films to her credit, took it upon herself to producing a ‘different genre’ in Marathi films.
Trupti produced Tujha Majha Sansarala Aani Kay Hava, which released in 2007 and she was also in the female lead. Trupti proudly states that this film bagged two State awards and several nomimations at other award functions. “It was my first production and I got accolades for it. It was a story of a farmer and his family. It made me want to do more for Marathi films,” says the young actress-turned-producer, who promised herself that her next film would be technically different.
